International Martial Arts and Boxing Academy of Akron (IMAA)
Our academy does not concern ourselves with guidlines, or classical forms found in many martial arts systems. But we do admire and practice anything that is useful in actual combat. ("In memory of a once fluid man crammed and distorted by a classical mess") Lee Jun Fan stated, do not concern yourself with "This or that, use anything that scores" and to "Absorb what is useful, discard what is not and add what is uniquely what is your own."
From the many styles of fighting. Be it the wide variety of Chinese Martial Arts, the many styles of American fighting arts, France's Kickboxing Filipino empty hand and weapons arts, Japan's Karate and Judo, Korea's hand and foot arts, Brazil's jiu jitsu, Indonesia's empty hand and weapons, the list goes on and on. Many countries and many other ways of combat, Bruce Lee once stated that "The individual is always more important than the art," and that "There really is only one way of fighting and unless there are human beings with three arms and four legs then maybe there will be another style or way of fighting."
We try and explore the many ranges of combat, without the many set prejudices of "This or That." Without the set patterns of my my way is the best wat. We are an Academy with the belief of expressing ones self and being true to one's self. We explore the countless aspects of "Using no way as way and having no limitations as limitations." This class is not only for the beginner but if you're experienced it will only compliment your current fighting ability.
"When ever some big guy attacks you do not react to his ego. But take joy on the Havoc you're going to lie on him for being so obliging. Right now I'm trying to teach you the spirit, the fighting spirit"
